Interview: U.S.-Vatican Ambassador Joe Donnelly on Ukraine, China and his meeting with Pope Francis

When Joseph Donnelly, the new U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, presented his credentials to Pope Francis on April 11, they talked together in private for about half an hour and devoted much of that time to discuss the war in Ukraine. Mr. Donnelly talked about this in an interview with America at Villa Richardson, the ambassador’s official residence in Rome, on May 19.
