Cameroon: Andrew Nkea, the archbishop who wants to reconcile the country

(Franck Foute, The Africa Report) For the past four years, Archbishop of Bamenda Andrew Nkea has been pushing for peace in the English-speaking regions of the North-West and South-West, despite threats from separatists. This commitment has earned him the Vatican’s support. The first rays of sunshine pierce the heavy fog that has settled in Mankon. It was in 1935 on one of the hills in this popular district of Bamenda, that the British Mill Hill missionaries erected the small chapel that has now become Saint Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral.
