Archbishop Ian Ernest installed as the Archbishop of Canterbury's representative to the Holy See
(a cura Redazione "Il sismografo")
Last night in Rome, during a service of evensong at the magnificent Chiesa di Sant’ Ignazio di Loyola, Archbishop Ian Ernest was installed by Archbishop Justin Welby as the new Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome and as the Archbishop of Canterbury's representative to the Holy See.‬
On his Facebook page, Archbishop Justin Welby wrote: "It’s always a joy to be in Rome, but this trip was special because we were commissioning the new Director of the Anglican Centre here. Archbishop Ian Earnest comes to the role with huge experience and a real passion for deepening the relationship between the Anglican Communion and the Vatican.
He'll also be my Personal Representative to the Holy See. While we were here, we had the great honour of visiting Pope Francis. Every time I spend time with him, I am bowled over by his simple and sincere love for Jesus and his energy for sharing the good news.
Please pray for Archbishop Ian and his wife, Kamla, as they settle into this new role. Please pray too for the work of the Anglican Centre which has done so much to bring about understanding and reconciliation between our churches."
