(Luis Badilla) Fra i tre nuovi cardinali non-elettori c'è una nomina singolare e senza precedenti: l'arcivescovo emerito di Castries, Santa Lucia (Antille/Caraibi), mons. Felix Kelvin Edward (81 anni). Già la sola biografia del futuro porporato racconta una storia importante, ma anche la nomina stessa di mons. Kelvin - in passato Presidente della Conferenza delle Chiese dei Caraibi (AEC) - dimostra una particolare sollecitudine di Papa Francesco per un insieme di comunità cattoliche che non sempre, fuori e dentro della Chiesa, hanno avuto la considerazione e l'attenzione che sarebbe stata giusta e necessaria.
