Léger left lasting impression on Quebec with humanitarian work

(Alan Hustak) As the Year of Mercy neared its completion, Montreal Catholics remembered Cardinal Paul-Émile Léger on the 25th anniversary of his death as a man of many contradictions who relinquished his prestigious position in the Church to make the poor his priority.--  Léger, Montreal’s first cardinal, resigned as the city’s archbishop in 1968 to do missionary work in Africa.
